I have not drawn anything of any real substance for more than 10 years. Today my muse nailed me with a sledgehammer. It was beautiful.
I do not know the name of the model. I am naming this drawing "Karen" to forever remind me of the kindness of strangers, stories of starfish, the land of bloggers and this sublime Saturday.
"Smiles are free on Saturdays." I love that!

I just happened for some reason to click on your name and then click on your blog after I read your post on my site and Tree's. Wow, tears of incredible warmth rushed over me. I have so many emotions in dealing with this "cancer" and the fact that both my breast will be removed sometime next month is a tough pill to swallow. I have good days and bad days and other days I am just a good actress. So many other women are going through this and all of you have been so wonderful to me. Hopefully by Christmas or at least the new year I will be clean of cancer.
Dear, dear Karen. I can only imagine what you are going through. Emotionally and physically.
One thing I am truly certain of is that you are in a position where you will meet so many wonderful, giving, caring human beings who will touch your life forever. There are blessings even in tragedy.
I pray for you, and for everyone suffering this disease. I have seen it in family members. A ray of sunlight for me is knowing that we truly have come far in this fight.
Hugs and love and tears of joy to you dear.
Karen, nice to see you post here. Agnes is a wonderful caring person who will stick with you through the good times and the bad. She has what the Allman Brothers might call "Soulshine."
Agnes, beautiful drawing. I'm impressed :-)
Trée you are too kind.
I want you to know that I worked especially hard on that belly-botton ring just for you. ;)
How can I ever repay you for such a kindness ;-)
A very beautiful drawing, yes.
Thank you o' seeker of truth.
I e-mailed it to my mom, so she could see that I'm drawing again. She's always been hopeful that I wouldn't let the talent slide.
She said "Well it's good but why can't you draw something like flowers or fairies? Why are you drawing nekkid women?" LOL
Was she nekkid? runs back to take a closer look
Mmmm, your mom has quite an imagination. Must have been hell growing up under her x-ray vision (just a little humor for a Monday morning ;-)
LOL - Moms...they know all and see all. We didn't get away with squat as kids.
However, we will cut Mom a little slack. She does, afterall, have her own Ted Nugent CD and she knows the words. That puts her in with the cool kids. :D
